Assistant Principals

AP Tiffani Patterson

Ms. Patterson

It is an honor and privilege to serve as one of your Assistant Principals at Ruth Musser Middle School for the 2020-2021 school year.  My goal as an assistant principal is to influence and enhance the current culture of the RMMS through building relationships and assisting in closing gaps in achievement and opportunity. I believe that a culture where it is safe to learn, safe to make mistakes, and safe to seek and receive the support needed to be successful encourages life-long learning.  I value student voice and believe that no matter where we are in life, there is always something to learn and someone we can learn from. I look forward to having a great year and I am so excited to be a part of the Ruth Musser Middle Bulldog Family! Feel free to contact me anytime at tpatterson@csd.k12.ca.us

Assistant Principal Mrs. Leach

Mr. Lewis

WHAT’S UP BULLDOG NATION!

I am Ryan Lewis and I am extremely proud to serve as one of the Assistant Principals at Ruth Musser. I have worked with middle school students for many years as a former teacher and education continues to be my passion and purpose in life. I attended California State University Channel Islands, where I earned a bachelor’s degree in History. I also went to Azusa Pacific University to obtain my teaching credential and California State University Fullerton, where I earned a master’s degree in Educational Administration. My wife and I have four energetic children and are constantly on the go! I spend most of my free time with my family, but I also enjoy listening to music, completing DIY projects on our fixer-upper home, and reading books about instruction, leadership, and self-improvement.

I love interacting with students because it provides me with the opportunity to build relationships so that I can help them to be the very best versions of themselves. As an assistant principal, I think that one of the most important things I can do for kids is to instill them with the types of values that will help lead them to success. I believe that developing a strong work ethic is essential in middle school. There are no hand-outs in life. If you want to succeed, you have to be willing to work for it. Secondly, I try to teach kids not to be afraid of failure. Mistakes create opportunities to learn and improve. Lastly, I believe in the limitless potential of all kids to learn and grow. Students need to believe in their own capacity to change and succeed before they invest energy in mastering whatever skill they are trying to learn.

I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to our Bulldog family! Partnerships between our school, your family, and the community is a necessity. It takes a team to support and strengthen a child. Feel free to contact me anytime at rlewis@csd.k12.ca.us
